Implementation Summary

Overview

Successfully implemented a modern architecture for TurkAnime GUI with Python backend and Next.js frontend, as requested in the issue.

Changes Made

1. Backend (Python/FastAPI)

Requirements Fulfillment

Original Requirements

  1. ✅ Fix Japanese romanji and English title matching

    • Implemented advanced TitleMatcher class
    • Supports Japanese, Romaji, and English
    • Handles season info removal
    • Similarity scoring algorithm
  2. ✅ Split into Python backend and JavaScript frontend

    • Backend: Python FastAPI
    • Frontend: Next.js TypeScript
    • Clean API separation
  3. ✅ Use AniList only for saving anime and tracking progress

    • AniList endpoints only for user data and progress
    • No longer used for trending/discovery
  4. ✅ Use LiveChart.me for current seasons and trends

    • LiveChartClient implemented
